Overview
WARDOGS includes two parachute variants, identified as the Basic Parachute and the Sport Parachute. Each item operates on a single-use basis, requiring manual deployment by the player following a long drop. In the shop, both parachutes occupy the Traversal slot and are categorized under Utility. Neither model requires an unlock, and each can only be utilized once. Pressing the Space key opens the canopy during a fall and also leaps from ladders.
Canopy Comparison
Store entries note “Cannot be Controlled” for the Basic Parachute, while designating “Can be Controlled” for the Sport Parachute. Unlike the Basic variant, the Sport model permits steering, gliding, and executing a pull-up. Carrying more movement variables, the Sport edition also possesses greater weight. Item weight is documented at 2.5 for Basic and 9 kg for Sport. At the store, the listed prices stand at 500 cash for Basic and 700 cash for Sport.
Matching its store entry, the Basic Parachute lacks any stamina bar, glide ability, or pull-up function. Pulling up on the Sport Parachute consumes stamina at a rate of 50 per second, recovering at 30 per second. Because the Basic variant defines no velocity limits, default figures govern it (5,000 vertical and 2,000 horizontal). Since no pull-up pool or roll speed is specified for the Sport model, default metrics of 100 and 2 take effect. None of these parameters have their measurement units specified.
Deploy Criteria
Deployment requires possessing the canopy item, not having it deployed already, descending in freefall, and maintaining sufficient open clearance beneath the operator. Canopy activation demands a prior drop measuring at least 400, deduced from the velocity scale as most likely 4 m. Opening necessitates an altitude clearance above terrain of at least 1,000, which is derived as most likely 10 m. Canopy deployment duration is listed as 2 s, introduced as a new value in Season 2. The deployment process requires an unstated unit value of 2.0. Cutting lines is restricted exclusively to moments when the canopy is currently deployed.
Landing Impact
In-game text indicates that deploying either canopy model mitigates damage incurred from falling. Operating on centimeter-per-second velocity inputs, parachute landing harm scales linearly from zero damage at 6.95 m/s descent up to 100 at 17 m/s. Maximum terminal velocity during a descent reaches 53 m/s. In-flight aerial control during a drop is rated at 20%. Freefall impacts begin inflicting harm at a descent velocity of 6.7 m/s, which registers 0 damage. Unassisted falling results in 100 impact damage once velocity hits 8.8 m/s.
Season Balance
Within the economy, the cash price of the Basic model increased from 100 to 500. In contrast, purchasing the Sport version dropped from 1,000 down to 700 cash. The required descent distance prior to canopy opening increased from 100 to 400 across both models. Handling metrics saw the pull-up drag on the Sport variant adjusted from 825 down to 400.
Season 2 assigned three new parameters to both canopies: a 1.75 vertical drag coefficient, an opening duration of 2.0, and 1,000 required clearance above ground. No baseline statistics exist from Season 1 for comparative reference. Under Season 2 updates, the required initial drop distance increased from 1 m to 4 m, alongside a new 10 m ground clearance prerequisite for opening. The threshold where deployed parachute landing damage reaches 100 was shifted to a descent rate of 17 m/s, up from 11.1 m/s in Season 1.
