BALLISTIC TERMINAL DAMAGE & PENETRATION ARCHITECTURE

Combat engagements in WARDOGS resolve damage through a rigorous physical ballistic simulation incorporating projectile mass, muzzle velocity, aerodynamic velocity decay, kinetic energy transfer, and localized armor threshold degradation.

Every operator hitbox maintains distinct anatomical damage multipliers. Impacting unarmored cranial sectors inflicts lethal instantaneous trauma, while armored torso plates dissipate ballistic momentum through composite ceramic fragmentation.

PROJECTILE VELOCITY DECAY & DISTANCE SCALING

Munitions do not maintain uniform kinetic lethality across flight trajectories. Drag coefficients bleed projectile velocity over distance, causing damage values to taper across discrete ballistic brackets until reaching asymptotic minimal damage thresholds.

COMPOSITE ARMOR MITIGATION & OVERMATCH

Equipped cranial helmets and torso ballistic carriers possess discrete damage absorption ratings. When standard rounds impact high-grade plating, kinetic impact is heavily blunted. Conversely, dedicated armor-piercing cartridges punch through composite weave with minimal energy dissipation.

TIME-TO-KILL (TTK) COMPUTATION & FLIGHT LAG

True lethality cannot be evaluated solely through chamber cyclic fire rates. Projectile travel duration creates noticeable latency at extended distances, necessitating leading targets and calculating time-to-kill from trigger pull until terminal impact.

FREQUENTLY ASKED COMBAT QUESTIONS

How does engagement range influence weapon damage?

Bullets lose velocity over distance due to air resistance. Damage drops smoothly between the weapon's direct damage range and max drop-off threshold.

Do armor vests shield against limb hits?

No. Torso armor vests only reduce incoming damage directed at the upper and middle torso. Arms, legs, and neck impacts take full unarmored damage multipliers.

What is the difference between kinetic and explosive damage?

Kinetic damage originates from direct ballistic impacts with specific hitboxes. Explosive damage propagates through shockwave radii, attenuating with distance from epicenter.

Does bullet caliber affect armor penetration?

Yes. Heavier calibers like 7.62x54mm and 12.7mm maintain significantly superior armor penetration factors compared to pistol calibers or lightweight intermediate rounds.

How is Time to Kill calculated in the tool?

TTK equals the duration required to deliver sufficient lethal hits based on the cyclic rate of fire, plus the projectile travel flight latency from barrel to target.
